Day 54

Reveil au bruit du klaxon. Involontaire, c'est la trail angel qui a dormi dans sa voiture sur la route en terre, qui a accidentellement appuyer sur le klaxon. Il est 6h30 c'est extremement tot pour moi mais tant pis ca me permettra d'eviter la chaleur de la journee. Je me prepare et en sortant de ma tente je me rends compte que jake et kelly (les trais angels) sont entrain de preparer des pancakes pour tout le monde ! Evidement tous ceux qui ont campes a cote se ruent sur l'occasion, pancakes et fruits au petit dej, le bonheur. Ona meme eu le droit a d'autres trails angels qui sont venus leur donner une pasteque et des boissons, c'etait la profusion aujourd'hui. Merci a tous ces gens ! Le plan de partir tot c'est completement envole, j'en suis au troisieme pancake et il doit etre 10h quand j'arrive a me motiver a partir. Il fait chaud dans la montee... on a ensuite une descente interminable, au lieu de passer dans la vallee ou sir le sommet le trail prends des chemins qui semblent juste etre fait pour nous faire marcher plus longtemps meme si on peut deja voir notre destination. Apres deux heures de marche non necessaires on arrive enfin dans la vallee, avec trail master on decide de continuer un peu pour se rapprocher de la ville et ne pas avoir a trop marcher demain. Hier je me moquais de la pluie au loin, aujourd'hui elle est en plein sur moi... on a ete chanceux quand meme, la pluie n'a dure qu'une heure et s'est arretee pile quand on a voulu monter le camp. Et demain on arrive a un lieu iconique du pct, kennedy meadows qui marque la fin de la premiere section et l'entree dans la Sierra !

Woken up by a honk. Wasn't on purpose, it's the trail angel who was sleeping in her car and triggered it when moving. It's 6h30 which is extremely early for me but if I move now it will allow me to avoid the heat. Iget ready but when going outside of my tent i realise that jake and kelly (the trail angels) are preparing pancakes for everyone ! Obviously all the people who camped there rushed for the breakfast when they smelled the odour. Pancakes and fruits for breakfast, the dream. There was even more trail angels who came to give watermelon and more beverages ! Thanks to all those people ! The plan to leave early was a total failure, i've eaten three pancakes and it must be 10am when i start to move outside of the camp. It's hot in the ascent... then there is a never ending descent, instead of going right to the bottom or going on the ridge line the trail is trying to take the longest route to arrive at the same point. After two hours of non necessary walk we finally arrive in the valley, with trail master we decide to push a bit more to get closer to the town so we'll be able to arrive early in town tomorrow. Yesterday i was happy to see that the rain was in the distance, but now it's right on me... but we've still been lucky : it lasted only one hour and it stopped right when we arrived to camp. Tomorrow we'll reach an iconic place of the pct : kennedy meadows which marks the end of the desert and the beginning of the sierra.
